Policies for Facility Use

        Merrill Center

1. Rent Charge. The responsible party agrees to pay Merrill CommUnity Center $175 for use of the Merrill CommUnity Center kitchen and community room facilities.

Room Fees: The charge is $30.00 per room per day. If the room is not left clean, the organization will be billed a cleaning and/or damage and replacement charge. Full payment is due the day before the event.

2. Deposit. There will be a $50 deposit required at least 30 days in advance of an event. The deposit will be refunded in full if the event is cancelled 30 days prior to the date scheduled, or the responsible party complies with all the terms and conditions of the rental contract in regard to the building and/or equipment being left in satisfactory condition. Also, there is an additional janitorial fee of $25.00.

3.Prohibited Substances and Activities: There is a no-smoking and no-alcohol use policy throughout the building or on the MCC premises. Abuse of prescription or over the counter drugs, possession or use of illegal drugs, gambling, and possession of firearms is not permitted.

4. Trash must be emptied in the appropriate dumpsters outside the building.

5. Liability for damage. Merrill CommUnity Center is harmless from any liability for any personal injury claim or property damage resulting from the intentional, willful, or negligent acts of the renter. Additionally, MCC will not be responsible for any damages to vehicles, equipment, property, etc. The person in charge must provide supervision at all times for persons present.

6. The room(s) are available from 8am to 10pm.

7. A Merrill CommUnity Center staff member will open the building to the renter. At the end of the term, a MCC staff will be present to check out the building and lock it up. A key may be given prior to the event, based on the discretion of the Executive Director.

8. The Merrill Community Center can be rented to, or for the following: funders, community/service agencies, special occasions, events, community members, as approved by the Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors as relative to our mission statement.

9. Security Personnel. The responsible party shall provide Security Personnel for any event held at the Merrill Community Center as deemed necessary by the Executive Director. If security personnel are required, the user shall provide a copy of a contract at least five days before the event. He/she shall required to pay for the security services.

10. Insurance. The responsible party shall procure at his/her expense, a policy of insurance from an insurance company duly licensed to conduct business in the State of Wisconsin providing coverage of General Liability- $1,000,000 combined single limit.

The renter shall provide a certificate of insurance coverage required by this contract. The certificate shall name MCC as an additional insured and shall provide that the policy of insurance shall not be cancelled or altered without ten (10) days prior written notice to MCC.

11. If an event is terminated due to an unlawful violation, the user will forfeit a  refund of deposit and rent.

12. Compliance with safety regulations. The responsible party shall comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, including fire regulations, while using the Merrill CommUnity Center.

13. All groups will be required to complete a Facility Request Form.

14. Any renter, shall not allow the premises to be used for any unlawful purpose, or for any purpose that will any way effect the validity of any policy of insurance.
